Who We Are
CLARiTI is an exciting collaboration between scientists committed to understanding brain health. We have teamed up to answer important questions about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. Like you, we have seen the impact dementia has on families and communities and we want to find solutions.
ADRC Program
What is the ADRC network? Why is it important?
We are partnered with Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers (ADRCs) across the United States to run the CLARiTI study. These are trusted research centers that work to improve the diagnosis, care, treatment, and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. These ADRCs are supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and share data with the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC). NACC, in turn, supports the ADRCs by storing data, opening channels of communication, and promoting collaboration. This collaboration will allow us to collect better, more accurate data and make groundbreaking discoveries that would not be possible alone.

CLARiTI Organization and Cores
CLARiTI is an ambitious study involving a team of outstanding scientists. Organized into specialized Cores, the CLARiTI team works together to ensure that the study collects high-quality data. This helps us better understand Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
- National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Council (NACC) has a central role in CLARiTI and supports all of the Cores to make their work successful. They are the hub for storing and sharing all CLARiTI data. They coordinate communication with all CLARiTI partners.
- Central Administrative Team (CAT) oversees key parts of the CLARiTI study to meet the goals of CLARiTI.
- Access Core provides CLARiTI sites and team members with tools and resources to ensure people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to participate.
- Advanced MRI Core focuses on developing a system to evaluate different types of MRI scans.
- Blood Biomarkers Core creates methods for collecting blood and helps CLARiTI sites follow these steps.
- Data Analysis and Integration Core works with brain images from CLARiTI and other studies and helps to analyze the data.
- Education Core creates learning opportunities around using imaging data, including a program to support new scientists.
- Neuropathology Core ensures digital brain exams are done the same at all ADRCs and reviews the research data with a team of scientists.
- PET Biomarkers Return of Results Core creates toolkits and resources for sharing brain imaging and blood sample results with participants.
- Imaging Core processes all brain imaging data and provides researchers with access to imaging results.
Community-Science Partnership Board
The CLARiTI Community Science Partnership Board (CSPB) brings important voices to CLARiTI and guides our work. Board members include study participants, caregivers, scientists and individuals from the different geographical areas (e.g., rural and urban) people we serve. The CSPB meets quarterly to ensure our work stays connected with the needs and perspectives of our members.
Partners
The journey of advancing brain health is a collaborative effort that is possible only with the support and dedication of our incredible partner organizations. We thank all the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers participating in CLARiTI, the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC), The National Centralized Repository for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (NCRAD) and Standardized Centralized Alzheimer’s & Related Dementias Neuroimaging (SCAN) whose expertise make it possible to build a national platform for advancing brain health. We also extend thanks to the National Institute on Aging for its generous funding for CLARiTI and its support of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers Program. Together, we are forging a path towards a brighter future for brain health.
